1. Ensure compliance to applicable Environmental, Health and Safety legislation, e.g. OSH Act 1994, EQ Act 1974, Fire Services Act 1988, Atomic Energy Licensing Act.
2. Secure permits or licenses necessary to operate plant e.g. Poison License, Diesel StorageLicense, Certificate of Fitness, etc.
3. Maintain EHS related documents for a period of time as specified by the related regulation e.g. Medical Surveillance Record, Audiometry Results, Air Monitoring Results, etc.
4. Develop and maintain policies and safe operating procedure in accordance to hazards.
5. Perform hazard identification, risk assessment and implement corrective action.
6. Develop EHS related training module and facilitate training sessions.
7. Perform functions of a secretary for Environmental, Health & Safety committee.
8. Create and sustain high level of Environmental, Health & Safety awareness by adopting, managing and maintaining a suitable Environmental, Health and Safety Management System e.g. ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, HSPM-related activities etc.
9. Ensure ERT readiness such as competency, equipment and number of personnel.
10. Plan, execute and manage Environmental, Health and Safety related projects as required.
